A typical Gemini company

Emperor Consultancy founded in 2006, has been the most profitable half of my companies intended directions. Quite logical considering the specialism in video production I used to grow into the business of IT. After five years in a broadcast company’s combined office IT department, I had become the better IT professional at the cost of stepping away from the creative process.

After that experience, it was easy to add Microsoft Cloud services and other general office needs to my port folio. I worked in collaboration with a hardware supplier, working together in an ITIL service desk tool I trained him and his staff to work with in a 3 tier environment. I did the application design myself.

Teaching young students about system administration I began to realize I really missed the goal. That is why at this point in time I don’t do any office related support on a regular base anymore. I only use the Microsoft 365 and Azure environment with clients if I can train the internal superuser. I advise management of small and medium businesses. Mostly on how to regain control, financially and security driven in the IT part of their business.

Security and more general knowledge of what these IT tools do in the first line of many businesses these days, make my clients want to have more expertise in higher levels. So I make them independent again. Independent in a fast moving world where the internet connection is like the door everyone tells you is dangerous. And you can’t close it.

I like to stay connected to the first line of businesses. Very well possible because since 2005 when we started in Television, IT has accessed many of the first line processes providing hardware & software services. Websites and websites ‘hard- and soft’ functionality is closest to my former branch of classic communication (Broadcast).

Likely that is why we (and this time I really do work together within my company, with a former student who is now a really engaged developer), we are currently developing the next hype in video streaming services, customized to the needs of the expanding group of new media creators online. We are not all the way out there yet.
